Greenways are communication routes reserved exclusively for non-motorised journeys, developed in an integrated manner which enhances both the environment and quality

of the surrounding area. Canal towpaths and disused railway lines are a highly suitable resource for the development of greenways.” Lille Declaration, 12 September 2000

about

The Track to Nature Initiative is all about the utilization and vitalization of Greenways (former railway lines now used as bike paths) from the perspective of activist cyclists. These routes not only have the potential to promote sustainable travel and connect remote regions. They also serve as places for social exchange and embody a vision of our future in Europe.

My name is Golo. Bike touring is my great passion and an important part of my life. For me it’s time to give back to the landscapes and people along the way and share my luck and my perspective. I’m of German-Japanese origin, based in Berlin and majored in cultural and media studies. As a videographer and language tutor, intercultural exchange is my daily driver. The transformative potentials of infrastructure and mobility on our perspective of what we call “the world” shake my mind. I chose to participate in the development of Greenway Travel from a cyclist perspective by promoting and facilitate conscious and participatory travel.

My passion is to combine train and bike travel. My goal is the active reproduction of sustainable mobility structures in remote regions. All my journeys and projects shall follow this approach and align the interests of dedicated adventurers and the needs of the natural environment and local population. With Love!
